Salaam - Written by Mosh Ben-Ari, recorded by the band Sheva. Arranged and by Susie Davies-Splitter & Phil Splitter
Salaam means peace in Arabic and the other song words are in Hebrew. This song has now come to symbolise a call for peace and end to the struggle in the Arab-Israeli conflict.
This song was also used as part of the ‘One Voice, One Song: Festival of Joyful Singing for Kids’, a unique initiative open to children aged 7–13 from all abilities. After just one combined rehearsal, a 200 strong massed choir (from 5 different schools) united to perform together in a spectacular one-hour concert held at Bayside Church in Melbourne.
