The hardest thing about having a conference or big event is that it is often remembered as….well, pretty ordinary! You might have had a wonderful venue, great catering, specialist speakers talking on terrific topics – but people are like torch batteries; if they’re switched on for too long, they eventually go flat – and that’s not too bright!
If you would prefer people to remember your event because they came away enthusiastic, inspired and illuminated here’s what to do…
Contact ‘Susie and Phil’ – Australia’s Foremost Presentertainers.
With years of experience in writing, presenting and performing, Susie Davies-Splitter and Phil Splitter can create a lively and fun atmosphere to what might otherwise be a dull and forgettable function, seminar or conference. It’s no wonder that attendee at a recent National Speakers Association commented – “undoubtedly the icing on the cake!”
Whatever the need ‘Susie and Phil’ can add the necessary ingredients to ensure your next function is an overwhelming success by providing:
MusiKeynotes and Concerts

These presentations, delivered with the power and passion that only music can provide, can be linked to various topics to suit your requirements – either as a ‘MusiKeynote’ or simply as a joyful concert. With lilting vocals, beautiful harmonies, syncopated rhythms, positive lyrics and catchy melodies, Susie and Phil will make your event unique and memorable by sharing messages of positive thinking, self esteem and self motivation.
Performing with piano, guitar and percussion, Susie and Phil guarantee to entertain, energise, empower and inspire you and your participants to be winners in life!
Conference energising with ‘Butt Busters’
‘As soon as one part of your body falls asleep, your mind quickly joins it!’ (Nathan Suede 1992)
We all know how important it is to attend as many sessions as you can at a conference to get the most out of it, but – how do you keep your energy levels up? Come to ‘Butt Busters’!
A short sharp session designed to re-energise and re-vitalise between sessions. Susie and Phil will get you off your ‘butt’, flatten your ‘gut’ and refresh your ‘nut’ by getting you to move and groove to music.
So to get the most out of the conference don’t wait until you’ve reached ‘rock bottom’; get off your butt, stay in physical and mental shape and have some fun at ‘Butt Busters’ .
Musical Wrap and/or Themes
If you can remember the words to a favourite song from your youth, then you know how powerful music can be for achieving long lasting results.
At the conclusion of your event Susie and Phil can write and sing a ‘musical wrap’ in a style to suit the theme or message that you want to impart. As well they can create a special and unique theme song written and performed especially for you;(which can be recorded!) a truly memorable (and valuable) asset for your event!
High Calibre Master of Ceremonies
Try as they might and with all the best intentions, some people don’t quite make the grade as a competent Master of Ceremonies. The MC keeps the pace of the event exactly as planned, knows how to pad for a little time when a speaker is not quite ready, helps keep the audience tuned in and does all of this without distracting from the main reason why people have attended.
Luckily you can call on Phil Splitter to provide a High Calibre Master of Ceremonies for your conference, seminar or function.
Devishly funny, right on tempo and thoroughly professional, Phil’s ability as a High Calibre Master of Ceremonies will keep everything ‘on song’!
MusiKeynotes to motivate, energise and inspire! A mix of motivation, education, inspiration, entertainment, stories, music and humour as a positive and inspiring opening or closing to your conference.

I’m not stressed, I always look like this!
A lighthearted look at a very serious topic
In this highly interactive and entertaining presentation, Phil Splitter together with his partner Susie Davies-Splitter puts forward the notion that although we have stress in our lives, it’s how we manage it that can make the difference between thriving or just surviving!
Phil helps to uncover the myths of what stress is, why we have it and what we can do about it, in a fun and lighthearted manner that gives his audience some much needed strategies for coping in the classroom, the staffroom, the bathroom….. and beyond!
Phil, an accomplished speaker, writer, composer and humourist and Susie an experienced educator, composer, jazz pianist and singer, specialising in music and drama, have been composing, recording and presenting together for 15 years.
They have their own business ‘Welcome to Music’ and have recorded numerous albums of original exciting and uplifting music for children and adults alike, and provide workshops, artists in schools programs and presentations all with the one goal – to help people feel good about themselves.
In their travels around Australia and the world Phil has come to the conclusion that teaching and stress seem to go hand in hand. In fact it appeared to him that being stressed was a pre requisite for having a teaching position!
Through a mix of humorous examples, anecdotes and their original and motivating music, plus some well known re-jigged tunes, in what they call a ‘MusiKeynote’, Phil together with Susie helps his audience to discover how not only to ‘unstress in public’ but actually find ways to enjoy themselves along the way. Rather than the three R’s, Phil offers the three L’s –learn, laugh and live – and if necessary, lie!
‘I’m not stressed, I always look like this!’ is a great way to begin or close a conference, one where people will walk away feeling energised, empowered, enthused, entertained…and ‘enspired’ to tackle the task of teaching with renewed vigor.
Guaranteed to leave you totally unstressed and ready to tackle anything!!

What me – musical?
Why some of us are scared about music and how we can become musical models?
In this informative, fun and interactive MusiKeynote, Susie and Phil will share with you why so many people are scared of music and how to get over it, change your thinking and become a musical model for your children. Sounds easy – it is!! Sing, move, laugh and have fun in this highly entertaining and educational ‘MusiKeynote’.
Music, the arts and young children
We all begin life with the ability to draw, play music, dance, act and other creative pursuits.
Every child has a natural love for music and the arts – a creative being!
We had crayons, play-doh, plasticine, texta colours, finger painting, building blocks and all manner of things to help us express ourselves.
Musical Treasure Box
Each one of us once had a musical treasure box inside of us which allowed us to sing unashamed of our voice, dance unashamed of our bodies and movement, explore sounds, express ourselves in ways that don’t only use words and take expressive risks.
Two contributing factors to stifled creativity
Natural love and ability – lost
Often this natural love of music has been squashed and lost. We go to school – and we learn to read and write and become analytical – the arts often become the least important area and we mainly use the left side of out brain.
At school, many people were told to mime the words in the choir, not muck around on their instrument and not given opportunities to pursue creative subjects.
So consequently unless you had the desire to succeed in an artistically inclined career, most of us travel through life with our creative abilities still buried inside of us.
Unlock your creativity and you unlock your potential and unleash all the possibilities.
YOU can be a musical model
‘To those who think they have no gift
Tone deaf they say and two left feet.
Just look inside, set your spirit free
You’ll find that music holds the key!’
What me – sing?
Singing for everyone – singing for life
In this informative, fun and interactive MusiKeynote, Susie and Phil will discuss how important it is to understand our attitudes in relation to music and our voices; how to build musical confidence and become a singing model for our children; understand that what is not in the environment will not develop in the child and where to go from here to develop your beautiful voice!
We can all sing…!
We can all sing. Many people believe they are tone deaf or have a very small singing range. You don’t have to be a musician or have a musical background to sing. With practise we can all learn to listen to our voice, sing in tune and enjoy our voices and pass this joy onto our children!!
Benefits of singing for all people
The voice is your most natural gift. Your voice can lead you towards a richer and more enjoyable life by means of communication and singing.
Singing is free, it’s easy and for everyone.
Singing is a wonderful source of recreation, accomplishment and self expression.
Singing can help increase confidence, vitality and physical well being, understanding and enjoyment of one’s voice, improve communication and listening, develop creativity, relieve stress, foster team work skills, energise oneself and precipitate enjoyment and fun and laughter.
Singing brings freedom and healing, release of emotions, feeling of well being and self expression
Henry David Thoreau said – “If only the best singers in the bird kingdom sang, the woods would be silent indeed”
The Power of Music
‘Learning’ through music
In this informative, fun and interactive MusiKeynote, Susie and Phil will share with you why music is so unique and a powerful tool to develop all skills. We will discover why so many adults are scared of music and how to get over it, change your thinking and become a musical model for your children. Sounds easy – it is!! Sing, move, laugh and have fun in this highly entertaining and educational presentation.
Music is unique as it can develop a person wholistically.
An involvement in a music program helps to educate the whole individual intellectually, physically, socially, emotionally, kinaesthetically, artistically, aesthetically and creatively. Music can enable children to feel and understand the music physically and kinaesthetically through movement, cognitively through rhythmic work on body and instruments, emotionally through self expression, and through one’s sensibilities – that of the aural, visual and tactile. This wholistic style of teaching allows children to experience the music through their body, mind and spirit. A simple movement, vocal or rhythmic trigger can recall the material years later.
Music can develop all areas of learning.
Doug Goodkin, American music educator says “Music is a science, mathematical, a foreign language, history, physical education, and most of all it is art. PE lacks the intellectual dimension, maths the aesthetic, art lacks the social, language lacks the physical etc. Only music would develop all four side by side!”
Music is at the centre of educational experience.
Music is an art form, a science, and a physical discipline. It has its own special technical vocabulary, its own history and knowledge to be communicated. Successful music making is a balance of the physical, sensory, emotional and intellectual aspects of the human being hearing, thinking, feeling and doing.
